How does mixeeba work?
Short answer: Upload your mixes somewhere online. Submit details of where your mixes are currently online to us. We download them and host them on mixeeba. You're ready to share and manage your mixes!

Long answer: We've changed since when you may have last seen us. We no longer allow you to upload your mix directly to our site because of performance issues; long uploads were impacting downloaders and stopping them from enjoying the hundreds of mixes online.

As a result you now have to host your mix online (see below for details of where to do so), then submit these details to us. We'll go and get your mix and host it for you... You can expect 2 e-mails from us during the hosting process. The first is sent once you successfully submit your mix's details to us and the second once we've successfully uploaded your mix.

 

Why should I bother using mixeeba if my mix is already online somewhere?
Good question... While hosting it somewhere first does defeat the point of mixeeba somewhat, we do offer additional incentives for using us:

1. You mix is online permanently (or until you decide to delete it), regardless of how many downloads it gets. (See: How do I edit or delete my mix? below).
2. We have a facebook app (in the making) so you can show off your mixes on your facebook profile.
3. You can add info to your mix, such as a tracklist as well as links to your facebook and myspace pages.
4. The download chart. See how your mixes fair up compared to the whole host of other similar mixes on mixeeba... Did your forum pimping work?
5. Mixeeba is the home for mixes.

 

Where can I upload my mixes to before I submit them to mixeeba?
There are several websites for temporary file-sharing, namely sendspace.com, rapidshare.com, megaupload.com and yousendit.com.

 

Do I need to create an account?
No, simply add some info about your mix, like a title, genre, select a few settings, upload and share!

 

What file type can mixeeba host?
We can host .mp3, .wav, .rar & .zip.

 

Is there a maximum file size?
Yes, 700 megabytes is the maximum file size limit (the same as a CD).

 

How long before my mix appears on mixeeba?
During the week, if you submit your mix by 3pm (BST) your mix will be up the same day, normally within 2 hours. However, over a weekend it can take up to 12 hours to get your mixes on our servers.

 

How long does the mix stay up for?
Currently your mix will stay online until you select to delete it.

 

I didn't receive my edit code, where can I get a new one?
You can retrieve the edit codes for your mixes using the retrieve edit codes page. Enter the same e-mail address as the one you entered when you uploaded the mix and we'll send you an e-mail with all the mixes and edit codes you've uploaded.

 

How do I edit or delete my mix?
Using the edit code we send to you, you can edit and delete the mix by entering the code into the field on the mix's page.
