Why is mixeeba useful?
For listeners: Find and buy tracks super easily.
For DJs: Make your tracklists interactive.
For producers and labels: Point fans to the best place to access your music.
How does it work?
1. On
the homepage, enter your e-mail address and paste your tracklist in the box.
2. We find where to buy each track and email you back the direct links.
3. Use your interactive tracklist/chart on your website, blog, forum post, SoundCloud page or as a shopping list.
As a DJ, why should I put links on my tracklists?
Producers deserve their share of love as much as the DJs. By listing where you can pick up each track from, you can help the producer to get recognition for their hard work. (Cue rare acetate raid!)
After all, it's only fair to provide credit where credit's due.
Why do you need my e-mail address?
It takes a few minutes to search around the stores looking to see if they sell each track. Rather than making you wait around, we prefer to drop you an e-mail containing the links we find when we're done.
We promise we'll guard your info carefully, and never use it for anything unrelated to mixeeba. We operate a
no spam policy).
How long does it take to get my tracklist back?
About 5 minutes, just enough time to get your mix uploaded somewhere.
Why do you only link to Mp3s?
Mp3s are always in stock. As we provide a direct link to each individual track, we didn't want to risk linking to a 12'' only to disappoint with it being out of stock.
That doesn't mean we think vinyl is dead though. Oh, no, no, no.
All Mp3s linked to are DRM-free (will work on any player). We also say whether the store sells the tune as a WAV.
What stores do you check?
We search a library of over 6.3 million digital tracks of all genres, from the largest to the most niche dance music stores, currently:
How accurate is your search?
We only give you a link to an exact match of the track you are looking for, down to the correct remix.
What will the links look like?
We'll send you back a number of different formats to pick and choose from. These include links formatted for forums using BBCode, regular HTML, or just normal links, all of which are ready to simply copy and paste if you're using them elsewhere.
Why don't some searches find anything?
The more correctly spelt information about the track, the better the results. A title and artist will normally do, entering one lone word typically won't yield any results.
Check out the tracklist on the
how it works page for an example of a typical tracklist.
Why don't you display prices?
We don't want to start a price war. Dance music is produced, bought and listened to with passion by djs, producers, labels and listeners. So while the passion throughout is strong, on the business end of things the margins are tight.
Price shouldn't be the only reason you shop where you do. Remember the days when you'd spend hours in a record shop listening to tracks? We bet the customer service, stock and atmosphere made the record stores you went to great, not just the price. We also believe the same applies in the digital age; if they treat you well, stay loyal and support your friendly dance music store!
